Reading warning levels

Where an agency publishes a level under the Australian Warning System, it is shown exactly as published.

  • Emergency Warning An immediate threat to life or property. Act on the agency's instruction now.
  • Watch and Act Conditions are changing. Take action to protect yourself and others.
  • Advice An incident has started. Stay informed and monitor conditions.
  • Incident / Information An event the agency is attending, with no warning issued. Absence of a warning is not a statement of safety.
