CFS · Volunteer pathway SA Country Fire Service
Brigade-based volunteering. CFS describes the joining steps as follows:
- Before joining you must agree to a Confidential National Police History Check conducted by SAFECOM. A letter from the Chief Officer then tells you whether you may apply to your local brigade.
- Your application is voted on by brigade members, who may accept, reject or defer it.
- Accepted members serve a probation period; firefighter members must complete Brigade Fire Fighter 1 training during it.
